Decree is a language for people who have never written a program. You can write it in English or in Japanese.

What does it look like?

Decree▶ Run
say "Hello!"
name = ask "What is your name?"
say "Welcome, {name}"
Output
Hello!
What is your name?
› Hana
Welcome, Hana

A decree is a royal command. You are the king, and the computer obeys: write a command, and it does exactly that.

  • Write in English or Japanese — you can even mix both in one file.
  • Small differences don't matter: full-width and half-width characters, say or print.
  • When something is wrong, Decree tells you where, why, and how to fix it.
